San Beda SC President Janking Suravilla, an unlikely ally of the Sumilao farmers , welcomed the farmers with open arms at the Abbey church last December 17, 2007.
It was the first time ever again that rallyists were able to walk in the vicinity of Mendiola despite heavy security
The farmers were greeted not by force but instead by flowers coming and mineral bottle coming from the Police themselves.
They took a respite and a mass was held in honor of the Sumilao farmers who walked 1,700km's from Sumilao to Manila in order to dramatize their cause.
Prominent people who attended the mass included Pres. Sec Bunye who sat at the front altar.
After the mass, the farmer's with the help of Jesuits, guided them to the front gates of Malañang. However only a few media men and the chosen representatives of the Sumilao farmers were allowed access to the press conference.
Meanwhile Kelly Navea took a rest from taking pictures and ate at Buena bonita's despite the sun overshadowing Mendiola

I even failed to attend all of my classes but thank God I was there. I felt so much more than being a photographer. I felt the action and the excitement, so much more for the boring economics classes I attend and the wasted hours sitting inside the classroom.
